Inside Track Short Track Notebook: April 22nd Edition

In the April 22nd edition of Spencer Lewis' Short Track Notebook, we unveil the new look of 5 of Ontario's most popular drivers. From Bob Chenoweth's gorgeous new Thunder Car to Mike Westwood's newest creation, this update has something for everyone.

Here's our first look at Bob Chenoweth's ride for the 2014 season. The veteran will pilot a brand new McColl Racing Enterprises crafted chassis, with hopes of winning Flamboro Speedway's Thunder Car championship. Chenoweth joins a London Recreational Racing team packed with talent, including his son Shawn, OSCAAR Super Late Model star Andrew Gresel, former Lucas Oil TQ Can-Am Midget champion Daniel Bois and fellow Thunder Car mainstay Brad Collison. Additional sponsorship will come from Transaxle Truck Parts, Automotive Truck and Tire, Hitman Hotrods, Castrol Edge, Innerkip Plumbing and Heating, Super Clean and KR Communications. Chenoweth will kick off his season this Saturday at Flamboro's 2014 season opener.

After liquidating his Ltd. Late Model assets at the closing of the 2013 season, 'The Instant Classic' Andy Kamrath will compete in Sunset Speedway's Mini Stock division this season. The Innisfil, ON-based driver has sent along a shot of his newly vinyled Civic, as he prepares to make his divisional debut at Sunset on May 3rd. Kamrath will race as a teammate to his brother-in-law, reigning Sunset champion Warren Paxton, with marketing support from ImageWraps.ca, Jason Witty Re/Max Realty, AM Roofing and CB Services of Bolton. Follow Andy on Twitter @AndyKamrath35 as he puts the final preparations together for his first career Mini Stock start.

Earlier this offseason, we broke news that multi-time Flamboro Speedway Mini Stock champion Dave Bailey would make the move to the Thunder Car division in 2014. Bailey unveiled his 'Brewster Baker' throwback scheme this weekend, in preparation for Flamboro's opener on April 26th. The Hagersville, ON driver injects an interesting rookie flavour into a veteran-heavy roster, and is likely to make his presence felt before the end of the season. Fans can follow Dave on Twitter @Phast31 as he puts the finishing touches on his Camaro ahead of his divisional debut this Saturday.

Peterborough Speedway Mini Stock championship contender 'The Silencer' Chris Mulders has uploaded shots of his newly vinyled entry for the upcoming 2014 campaign. The 'Farm Bros. Racing' representative joins an incredibly deep Peterborough roster that already includes former Autumn Colours Classic winners Ryan Babin and Tyler Junkin, defending champion Ryan Oosterholt and rising stars Brandt Graham and Danny Benedict. Mulders will carry sponsorship from Link Greenhouses, CN Produce and Farm Bro Racing.

Former Hurricane Midgets standout turned OSCAAR Modified regular Mike Westwood has sent along this photo of his newest project. The third-generation driver has been busy preparing the first ever Stryker Chassis-built Super Late Model. Westwood has planned a limited schedule for the car in 2014, with the intentions of a possible fulltime OSCAAR tour effort in 2015. Westwood has tabbed Round 2 of the tour on June 1st as the potential debut for his new machine. Fans are encouraged to follow Westwood on Twitter @91MikeWestwood for exclusive photos of the new build.
